Liverpool have suffered a major setback in their longstanding pursuit for Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka ahead of this coming summer.
Saka had been heavily linked with a switch to Anfield with the England international emerging as a top name on the shopping list for the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
A report from The Daily Mirror, however, has claimed that Saka is in line to agree upon renewed terms in North London with Arsenal quite keen on tying down their young talent to a new long-term deal beyond the summer of 2023.
Klopp was hoping to land Saka’s signature and add another fantastic attacking asset to his already formidible setup at Anfield which saw Luis Diaz’s arrival in the Janaury window earlier this year from FC Porto.
The Columbian forward has adapted well to life in England’s top flight with the Merseyside Reds with Diaz netting twice and looking settled in his new surroundings after Liverpool hijacked Tottenham Hotspur’s approach for his services.
