Liverpool Target Eberechi Eze Talks About His Recent Transfer Rumours

Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze has remained tight-lipped when asked about the speculation linking him to Liverpool and his future at Palace.

The 24-year-old has had an impressive season, scoring ten goals and providing four assists in the Premier League.

His contributions have been crucial in lifting Palace away from the relegation zone after a challenging start to the campaign.

Since joining Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020, Eze has successfully made the transition from the Championship to the top flight and has developed a fruitful partnership with fellow EFL graduate Michael Olise, who was signed from Reading in the same summer.

When questioned about whether he is currently playing the best football of his career and the Liverpool links, the midfielder insisted from providing a direct answer.

As reported by the Evening Standard, he said:

“I’m not really too bothered about that. I’m just focusing on the present. I want to continue enjoying it and contributing to the team as much as I can. I’m improving every game.”

Under former Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson, Palace has experienced a revival in recent months, with Eze playing a significant role. Prior to Patrick Vieira’s dismissal as manager in March, Eze had scored just four league goals this season.

In addition to his goal-scoring abilities, Eze is an exciting player known for his dribbling skills, averaging 2.43 successful take-ons per game over the past year.

With 84 Premier League appearances under his belt at the age of 24, he is already accustomed to performing at a high level and is entering what could be the prime years of his career.

Eze’s potential impact from midfield makes him an intriguing prospect for Liverpool, although he admits his focus is solely on Crystal Palace for now.
