Liverpool target Lautaro Martinez is not leaving Inter Milan any time soon with the player’s agent sounding out a blow to Jurgen Klopp’s transfer plans.
Speculation had been rife over the Argentina international’s San Siro future beyond the summer with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea credited with an interest in landing his signature.
Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano, however, has asserted ( as quoted by the Italian outlet Calciomercato) that his client is set to stay put with the Serie A heavyweights to whom the star striker is contracted until the summer of 2024.
“He is staying at Inter.
“Lautaro has a five-year contract with Inter, he feels like an Interista. Inter are the team in his heart. He feels like an extra fan on the pitch.
“His family is also very happy in Milan. I can say with certainty: there is no possibility that Lautaro will leave Inter. He cares so much about winning with this club.”
Jurgen Klopp signed his longstanding target Luis Diaz earlier this year in the January transfer window with the Liverpool boss adding much-needed depth to his attacking ranks by bringing in the highly-rated Columbia international.
The futures of both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, meanwhile, remain up in the air which could convince Klopp of dipping into the market yet again to bolster his roster heading into the new season.
