Spanish international Thiago Alcantara remains keen on sealing a transfer to Liverpool FC this summer despite Manchester United reported to be in the fray to sign the Bayern Munich star.
Recent speculation indicates that the Reds are in pole position to secure the midfielder’s signing with Jurgen Klopp being open to selling Gini Wijnaldum to FC Barcelona in order to raise funds to finance Bayern Munich’s £30 million price-tag for Thiago.
Moreover, the Bayern midfielder has set his heart on a move to the Merseyside giants, with the Spaniard understood to be eager on playing under Klopp. The Liverpool FC boss is highly regarded by the 29-year old having come across the German during his days as the Borussia Dortmund coach.
The Anfield outfit, however, remains in constant talks with the Bundesliga champions with the hope of agreeing upon a considerably lower transfer fee for the player. With Thiago’s current Bayern deal set to expire next summer, Klopp’s side are wanting to get their summer transfer target on the cheap.
