Youri Tielemans has insisted that he is focused only on giving his best for Belgium in the UEFA European Championships now underway and not on the speculation surrounding his transfer situation this summer.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been linked with an exit from Leicester City with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United in the reckoning to make a move for his services.
Tielemans played a crucial role in Leicester’s FA Cup-winning heroics last time around and following him putting a roadblock to his contract extension talks at the King Power Stadium, speculation is rife that Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are in the pole position to land his signature.
Klopp is on the hunt for a quality midfield talent after saying his goodbyes to the long-serving Gini Wijnaldum who has now signed a three-year-long deal with French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
When being questioned upon his future in the Foxes shirt amid talk of Liverpool’s interest in him, Tielemans played down such rumours, saying that he remained focused on performing up to his highest level at the Euros.
“I don’t think about it. I am focusing on the Euros. I don’t listen to transfer rumours,” he said, as quoted by The Echo.
“No matter how much I am valued, it doesn’t change anything for me. I just want to make the best Euros I can.”
