Liverpool to face Benfica in the Champions League quarter-final

Liverpool will face Benfica in the Champions League quarter-final with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds pitted against the Portuguese side following Friday’s draw in Switzerland.

The Anfield giants had booked their spot in the last eight of Europe’s elite club competition courtesy of a 2-1 win on aggregate over Italian giants Inter Milan who handed a defeat to Liverpool in the second leg but could not win the two-legged tie.

A report from the club’s official website has confirmed that Liverpool will take on Benfica come April 5 for the first leg at Estadio da Luz while the return clash will be played on April 13 at Anfield.

Liverpool will consider it a priority to perform well in the Champions League as they seek another piece of silverware with Jordan Henderson and Co. still in the mix for the Premier League and the FA Cup.

The Reds next take on the Championship side Nottingham Forest in Sunday’s quarter-final clash with both teams vying for a spot in the semi finals of the famous competition.
