Liverpool are claimed to be in line to keep tabs on Villarreal summer signing Arnaut Danjuma who had been eyed up by Jurgen Klopp’s camp before his move to the La Liga outfit.
Danjuma had been a star turn for AFC Bournemouth in the Championship last season which had made clubs take note of his availability in this summer’s transfer window with Liverpool also rumoured to be in the fray.
The Merseysiders, however, did not follow up on their initial interest and the Dutch forward signed terms with Villarreal in a €23.5 million worth deal but reports from Sports Witness claim that Liverpool could be enticed to revive a move for Danjuma.
The Reds scouting staff are understood to be in line to attend Villarreal’s upcoming game in the Champions League against Manchester United with Klopp keen on signing Danjuma to replace Sadio Mane in the near future.
Mane is set to turn 30 later this campaign and has not been at the best of his form in front of the goal leaving Liverpool to scout the market for a fresh face to bolster the Anfield roster.
