Liverpool to open contract renewal talks with Fabinho

The Reds are pondering over opening contractual negotiations with the in-form Brazilian international Fabinho following his recent exploits in the Liverpool FC shirt, reports from ESPN suggest.

The reports indicate that the Merseyside club are looking forward to securing the midfielder’s immediate future in England, and ward off any potential interest in him from abroad, by extending much improved terms, with Fabinho’s current deal with the Champions of England running for another two years only.

Since his move to Anfield from AS Monaco in 2018, Fabinho has grown in a more improved player on the pitch as compared to his days in the Ligue 1. His long-range passing ability and a knack of scoring belters from outside the box have been hailed by many pundits across England and has impressed his coach Jurgen Klopp a lot as well.

The 27-year old has been slotted into the centre-back role quite often this season, and the player has been absolutely immense while playing in a new position on the pitch, most recently in the 1-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League, where he made a brilliant goal-line clearance to prevent the hosts from levelling the game.
