Liverpool are gearing up to rival Arsenal’s plans of signing Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze in their hunt for Roberto Firmino’s replacement.
Firmino is out of contract at Anfield come next summer and despite contract talks being underway with the Brazilian and his representatives, Liverpool are likely to scout the market for reinforcements to line up a potential replacement.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet Fichajes, it is claimed that the Merseyside Reds are keeping close tabs on La Liga star Samuel Chukwueze who has been an influential performer for his side Villarreal in the recent past.
Chukwueze is a natural winger which could be of interest to Liverpool after bringing in a traditional No.9 in Darwin Nunez last summer with the latter operating as the focal point of the front line for Klopp’s men.
The Reds are not the only team from England’s top flight division with an interest in Chukwueze, however, with the likes of Everton, West Ham United and Arsenal are said to be in the mix as well to land the African winger.
