Liverpool FC have entered the race to sign AFC Bournemouth star David Brooks this summer, according to reports. However, the Reds will face stiff competition from West Ham United in securing a deal for the Welsh international.
Brooks is rumored to be keen on making a move back to the Premier League following the Cherries relegation to the Championship. The 23-year old feels that his quality on the pitch would be wasted upon playing in the lower tiers of English football.
Jurgen Klopp is looking for additions to his squad in the wake of Adam Lallana’s departure following the midfielder’s contract expiring at the end of the 2019-20 season. Lallana who has since joined Brighton on a free transfer was a worthy presence on the Liverpool FC bench. The Reds boss is believed to be wanting attacking reinforcements for his side ahead of their title defense next season.
However, a price-tag worth £35 million put by AFC Bournemouth on Brook’s head would ensure hesitation on part of the Merseyside giants in pursuing the 23-year old’s signing this summer. The Reds have so far been unwilling to shell out large amounts of money to bring players to Anfield.
Tottenham Hotspurs and Everton too have registered interest in signing Brooks this summer. The latter are keen on making a move for the Welsh international to shore up their frontline under the helm of new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
