Serie A side Sampdoria’s president Massimo Ferrero has made it known to Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs to fork out no less than €30 million should they wish to sign the in-demand Mikkel Damsgaard this summer.
The Danish international attacker has Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders chasing his signature on the back of his superb run of form at the UEFA European Championships where Denmark bowed out in the semi-finals.
Damsgaard was a star turn for the Danes in the mega event this summer and looked to be the spoilsport for England’s chances of making it through to the finals after he had delivered a fantastic free-kick to give his side the lead early on in the game.
England, however, bounced back to stage a comeback win with a scoreline of 2-1 but Damsgaard’s showings over the course of the Euros has made him a hot prospect for both Liverpool and Spurs in the transfer market ahead of the next season.
Reports from The Mirror claim that Sampdoria’s president Ferrero is seeking a fee in the region of €30-40 million to sanction the sale of his star player to the interested parties.
“I’ll tell you it’s a fair price, today at least €30million (£26m).”
“But if he scores again he will reach €40m (£34million).”
