Liverpool turn down Basel’s bid for striker Liam Millar

Basel’s offer for Liverpool starlet Liam Millar has been rebuffed by the Merseysiders who are backed to offload the Canada international forward in this summer’s transfer window.

Reports from Goal claim that the 21-year-old Millar has attracted attention from a number of clubs across the world including the likes of Championship side Blackpool, Danish outfit Odense and MLS giants New York Red Bull.

However, it is reported that Swiss club Basel are leading the widely-contested race to land Millar’s signature but will be forced to table an improved offer having seen their opening bid turned down by Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool are on the hunt for a fee north of £1 million to part ways with their young attacking talent who is not seen as a probable first-team star in the coming time on Merseyside.

Jurgen Klopp is understood to be keen on letting go of several fringe members of his Liverpool camp to raise funds that are to be utilised in financing his target names in the transfer market.
