Liverpool are said to have turned down Nottingham Forest’s opening offer for Neco Williams in a blow to the newly-promoted side’s hopes of signing the right-back.
The Wales international has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield in this summer’s transfer window with Liverpool ready to part ways for the right offer, according to the rumour mill.
A report from The Daily Mail has claimed that Forest’s initial bid for Williams, a name the club has earmarked as a top target for the summer, has been rejected by the Liverpool camp.
Williams has been given the nod by the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to leave Anfield on a permanent basis following the arrival of Scottish starlet Calvin Ramsey who joins Liverpool on a long-term contract from Aberdeen.
Ramsay was an influential performer in Scotland’s top flight last term and he becomes the third new signing for Klopp after Fabio Carvalho and Darwin Nunez, the latter of whom makes the move to Anfield in a potential club record fee.
