Liverpool have turned down two bids from Ligue1 outfit AS Monaco and Premier League side Leed United for wantaway forward Takumi Minamino.
The Japan international has largely served in the capacity of a squad player for Jurgen Klopp at Anfield this season despite the Liverpool manager losing Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to the Africa Cup of Nations at the turn of the year.
Minamino’s inconsistent displays in the final third, when handed a berth on the Liverpool team sheet, has led to speculation that the Merseyside giants could be looking to cash in on him in the days of the January transfer window.
Reports from BBC Sport, however, suggest that Liverpool are not keen on parting ways with the former RB Salzburg forward midway through the campaign despite Leeds United and Monaco touching base with the Anfield camp.
Klopp will be hoping to retain Minamino’s services heading into the business end of the season with Liverpool battling for Premier League glory against the defending champions Manchester City besides eyeing up the Champions League and the Carabao Cup.
