Liverpool U23’s star defender could be headed for loan exit this summer

A rising star among the Liverpool FC U23’s, Tony Gallacher, has attracted interest from America’s top-flight footballing division, the Major League Soccer. It is understood that a number of MLS teams have inquired about the possibility of signing the left-back on a loan deal ahead of next season.

The 21-year old Gallacher has been a regular starter for the U23 side of the Anfield giants, impressing in his showings as a left-sided full-back. However, the ex-Scotland U17 international has been unable to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team squad like Neco Williams has done so across the 2019-20 season.

However, with fellow Scott Andy Roberton firmly established as the first-choice left-back under Klopp, and the arrival of Kostas Tsimikas this summer to provide cover for the 24-year old, Gallacher could be headed out for a loan exit to gain some valuable experience while in America.

At just 21, the player could be destined for a spot in Liverpool FC’s lineup in the coming years. However, for now, a loan move to the MLS seems to be in the best interests of both Gallacher and the Anfield outfit.
