Liverpool veteran James Milner is wanted by Brighton on a free transfer with the south coast outfit keen to sign the midfielder this summer when his Anfield terms expire.
Milner is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season and the former England international is yet to pen an extension amid speculation that the Reds could be willing to part ways with him.
Despite suggestions that the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is eager to retain Milner’s services as the former looks to rebuild his engine room for the next season, there is no agreement between the two parties on the contract front.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, it is claimed that the 37-year-old Milner is a name on the summer shopping list for Brighton who are hoping to qualify for the Europa League and would be in the market for reinforcements to bolster their squad.
Premier League clubs cannot approach a player until the summer which means that Brighton will have to delay a potential approach for Milern until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
