Gomez slots in at centre-back with Van Dijk benched
Summer signing Ibrahima Konate will have to wait a bit longer for his debut outing with Joe Gomez the man to come into the XI for Liverpool at the back.
The England international will be making his first start of the new season as he partners Joel Matip in the heart of the Liverpool backline.
Divock Origi handed a shock start by Jurgen Klopp
Sadio Mane is relegated to the bench to make way for the Anfield outcast Divock Origi to be fielded up front alongside the star duo Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota.
Origi had his future in the Liverpool colours subject to much uncertainty in this summer’s transfer window and the Belgian will be aiming to make an impact in front of the goal.
