Needing just five points out of the available 32 to clinch the Premier League title, Liverpool FC will now host Crystal Palace FC at Anfield on 25th June. The game would be Red’s second fixture of the Project Restart following their goalless draw in the Merseyside Derby.
Jurgen Klopp’s side would be optimistic about their chances against Palace, whom they defeated 2-1 in the reverse fixture held earlier this season.
The draw in the Merseyside Derby would provide some much-needed fire to the Liverpool FC squad to go on and win the fixture against Palace. The Eagles won their last encounter in a 2-0 victory over struggling AFC Bournemouth.
It would be an unusual sight for the Liverpool FC squad to play at Anfield without the roar of the Reds faithful. The Liverpool FC supporters are famously very loud from the stands and cheer on their team with maximum noise.
Manchester City FC’s last game saw them seal a comfortable 5-0 victory over Burnley FC. The result has now put pressure on the Reds to seal the Premier League title in a swift manner. A victory at Anfield against Roy Hodgson’s side would be a huge step towards that.
Crystal Palace FC have been in fine form this season. The Eagles are seated ninth in the Premier League table, two points adrift of Arsenal FC.
Roy Hodgson would be hoping that his side can clinch a Europa League spot for next season. The Eagles are only four points behind fifth-placed Manchester United FC.
As compared to before the commencement of Project Restart, Liverpool FC’s lead over second-placed Manchester City FC has been trimmed down to 20 points. The earlier gap was 25 points, with Manchester City FC having played one game less than the Reds.

Joel Matip too was substituted in the Derby with the centre-back having suffered a knock. The Cameroon international would not be part of the Reds squad that will face Crystal Palace.
Roy Hodgson has stated that there are no fresh injury troubles after Palace’s last game against Bournemouth. An unchanged lineup is expected to be announced to face the Reds at Anfield.
However, James Tomkins and Jeffrey Schlupp will miss the upcoming fixture having been sidelined from action earlier. Also, former Liverpool FC defender Martin Kelly too is recovering from an injury and won’t be a part of Wednesday’s proceedings.
