Premier League leaders Liverpool will host local rivals Everton at Anfield in the fourth round of the FA Cup and each side will look to get one over another in a crunch Merseyside derby.
The Toffees haven’t beaten their local counterparts in a competitive fixture ever since 2010 and Everton is a staggering 26 points behind Jurgen Klopp’s table-toppers on the Premier League table this term.
The two teams have faced each other 285 times across all competitions over the years, with the Red side coming out on top 120 occasions compared to Everton’s 82. However, Everton will be rejuvenated with the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti and the Italian is the only manager to hand Klopp his only defeat of the season so far when he was in charge of Napoli.
The European champions are expected to rotate their squad heavily for the game and the players in the fringes of the squad could feature in a much-changed line-up at Anfield.
A most recent club signing Takumi Minamino arrived at Liverpool from Red Bull Salzburg for a fee of £7.25 million in the January transfer window and the Japanese midfielder could be in line to make his Liverpool debut. Center-back Nat Phillips returned prematurely from his loan spell at Stuttgart and the towering Klopp could also be hand the youngster his competitive debut for the Reds.
Liverpool still has a list of injuries but Klopp wouldn’t decide to risk any of his big-name players as the Merseyside giants are in the running to bring the Premier League title back to Anfield for the first time in 30 years.
Liverpool’s Predicted Starting Eleven- Adrian, Neco Williams, Ki-Jana Hoever, Nat Phillips, Yasser Larouci, James Milner, Curtis Jones, Takumi Minamino, Harvey Elliot, Rhian Brewster, Divock Origi
