Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Fulham after a defeat to Red Star Belgrade during the week.
The Reds will be hoping to go on top of the Premier League this weekend, at least for a brief while, as they face the bottom of the league side Fulham at Anfield on Sunday. Klopp’s men have gone through a difficult week after allowing Arsenal to score a late equalizer at the Emirates last weekend and then a humiliating 2-0 loss on their travels to Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday.
Fulham has won just one of their last 11 games ever since making it into the top flight of English football and will hope to leave Anfield with an upset but that seems unlikely at the moment. Slaviska Jokanovic’s men are staring at the barrel of returning to the Championship as their disastrous start in the Premier League continues and the Serbian could lose his job if the West Londoners receive a battering at Merseyside this weekend.
Liverpool will have a variety of options in midfield with Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita in contention and pushing for starting berth against the likes of Fabinho, James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum. Even Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino is expected to start after coming off the bench at Belgrade.
Klopp has pretty much turned Anfield into a fortress as the Premier League outfit lost their last game here back in May 2017. The German boss will be hoping to put the Champions League defeat behind him and see the game against Fulham as a springboard to push the club back to 1st place in the League.
