Liverpool play hosts to the defending champions Manchester City on Sunday in what promises to be a high-octane clash between the two top teams in England’s top flight.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are yet to end up on the losing side so far in this campaign but will be hoping for a return to winning ways in league action after dropping points last time around in the 3-3 affair away at Brentford.
The Reds, however, bounced back from their disappointment with a thumping win over FC Porto earlier this week in the Champions League group stage with Klopp’s side posting a 5-1 win over their Portuguese opponents.
Manchester City’s form midweek was in sharp contrast to Liverpool with the defending champions of England being handed a defeat by Paris Saint-Germain courtesy of a debut goal from Lionel Messi.
Liverpool will be hoping to deliver another solid showing on home turf and move back to the summit of the league table with a one-point lead over the now table-toppers Chelsea.

TEAM NEWS
Trent Alexander-Arnold is the major concern on the injury front for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp with the England international full-back sidelined for the upcoming game with a groin injury.
Another star regular Klopp will be unable to call upon for the weekend clash is midfield man Thiago Alcantara who is in line to return to the fold only after the international break.
MATCH PREDICTION
We expect an evenly contested game on the cards between Liverpool and Manchester City on Sunday but the hosts will head into the matchup as the favourites purely based on their recent run of form.
