Liverpool play hosts to Spanish side Villarreal at Anfield on Wednesday night in the first leg of the semi-final contest between the two sides.
Jurgen Klopp’s men booked their berth in the last four of the Champions League courtesy of a 6-4 aggregate win over Benfica with the Merseysiders putting out solid displays across the two-legged clash.
Villarreal, meanwhile, proved to be giant killers with Unai Emery’s side knocking out the favourites Bayern Munich with a 2-1 aggregate scoreline to secure a semi-final date against a high-flying Liverpool side.
The Reds last turned out in the derby contest on home turf against Everton with second-half strikes from Andy Robertson and Divock Origi ensuring the three points for the second-placed Liverpool to keep pace with Manchester City at the summit.
