Jurgen Klopp’s table-toppers will host Watford at Anfield on Saturday’s early kick-off as Liverpool will hope to pull away even further from the rest of the Premier League pack.
The Reds are unbeaten in 16 games so far in England’s top-flight winning 15 of them and drawing one but Klopp has a few issues with injuries.
Croatian defender Dejan Lovren is absent for the hosts after limping off early for the second match in a row against Salzburg in the Champions League. English center back Joe Gomez may get the nod to partner Virgil Van Dijk anyway as Joel Matip and Fabinho remain sidelined through injury.
Changes are likely to follow after Liverpool’s midweek match amid a congested run of fixtures in December, with Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner pushing for a starting berth. Even English midfielder Adam Lallana may return to action after missing two matches.
The visitors also have a few injury problems of their own as Watford will be without Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley, Sebastian Prodl and Jose Holebas. Daryl Janmaat is in contention to start after recovering from a knee injury while Craig Dawson is back in the mix.
The game will feature two teams at the extreme opposite ends on the table but football has proven to be anything but be predictable in the past. However, with Liverpool pushing for their first Premier League title in 30 years, it could well be the season for the Merseyside giants which ends their drought for the elusive silverware.
Liverpool Predicted Starting Line Up- Alisson, Alexander Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Milner, Keita, Salah, Firmino, Mane.
