Liverpool vs Wolverhampton Wanderers – Liverpool Predicted Lineups | EPL 2020-21

After a good performance and result against Ajax in the Champions League, the Reds of Liverpool will now shift their attention to the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp’s men face Wolverhampton Wanderers as Liverpool have a match at their hands which might be very unpredictable. Wolves have done very well this season but will be without their talisman, Raul Jimenez against Liverpool, which will give Klopp and his men a lot of confidence.

Liverpool will again be without some of their star players as the likes of Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Naby Keita are still injured. But the fringe players of the squad have done very well to get the results in both the Premier League and the Champions League. Klopp has mixed up his team and thus it will be difficult and interesting to see how he will set up his side.

Lets us now have a look at how Liverpool might lineup against Wolves in the Premier League.

THE 4-2-3-1

This is arguably the best Liverpool team available to Jurgen Klopp according to the personnel available to him currently. The youngster Kelleher is very likely to start again for Liverpool as Adrian has almost always disappointed while playing out from the back. The back four is expected to be of Robertson, Matip, Fabinho and Neco Williams with the injury to Van Dijk, Milner, Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez.

The two-man midfield pivot will be made from Henderson and Wijnaldum who have done extremely well in the midfield. Both the midfielders are very good defensively and break the play of the opposition well with the use of their experience and reading of the game. They also allow Robertson to play his game and bomb forward and join the attack with his drive and incisiveness.

The front four of the Liverpool side is very predictable as Firmino, Salah, Jota and Mane have done well in tandem and have produced the goods. Though Mane hasn’t done very well in the recent past, Klopp is very likely to trust the Senegalese striker. Klopp will be confident of Liverpool and will surely expect his side to take all three points.

THE 4-3-3

The only other formation used by Klopp at Liverpool is the 4-3-3 as Liverpool have some very versatile midfielders in the squad. The predicted midfield trio is very likely to be of Gini Wijnaldum, Henderson and youngster Curtis Jones as the three complement each other. Curtis Jones has been very good since his arrival in the first team as he also got a goal in the Champions League against Ajax in the midweek.

The front three of Liverpool is arguably the most dreaded in the world but Mane is very likely to be replaced by Jota in the game against the Wolves. Jota has had a dream beginning to his Liverpool career and will look to make it even better against his former employers and coach. His pace and directness have helped Liverpool a lot this season as he has evolved as a striker and he has also become a poacher in front of goal.

Liverpool will be expected to win the game but it is surely going to be a difficult game for the title defenders.
