Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a move for Barcelona midfield maestro Frenkie De Jong who is valued at a sizable €90 million.
The Holland international is rumoured to be close to the exit door at Camp Nou with Barcelona’s fall to the UEFA Europa League likely to force them to part ways with star regulars in the forthcoming transfer windows.
Jurgen Klopp has been on the search for reinforcements in midfield since the summer when his long-serving Gini Wijnaldum made the move to Paris Saint-Germain and De Jong is a new name on the radar at Anfield.
According to reports from Sport, it is claimed that the Reds camp are plotting a big-money move for the 24-year-old Barcelona talent who is also wanted by German giants Bayern Munich.
De Jong’s deal with Barcelona does not come to a close until the summer of 2026 which could spell out concerns on the pricing front for the player’s suitors in the transfer market including Liverpool.
