The Reds are mulling over offering a contract to 19-year old goalkeeper Javier Cendon to add to the club’s U23 squad depth. The teenager was released by La Liga side Villarreal at the end of the 2019-20 season.
The promising shot-stopper has trained with the Premier League champions at their pre-season training camp being held in Austria and has impressed members of Jurgen Klopp’s backroom team, especially goalkeeping coach John Achterberg.
Klopp is believed to be in favor of handing a deal to Cendon to extend his stay with the Anfield giants beyond this summer’s transfer window. The 19-year old is seen as a brilliant addition to the youth squads of the Reds by the German coach, according to reports.
It is also reported that the ex-Villarreal man will be training with the Liverpool FC players when the Merseyside club returns to Melwood later this week.
Jurgen Klopp’s side can also call upon the services of the returning Loris Karius next season. The disgraced German shot-stopper will be back in the Liverpool FC shirt after a two season-long long stint at Besiktes.
