Following groin surgery, Liverpool youngster James Balagizi has returned to Merseyside, putting an end to his loan with Crawley Town.
Balagizi had a successful first season with Crawley, starting nine of a possible 11 games and scoring twice against Fulham and Northampton Town in the League Cup.
But earlier this month the club’s official website, it was announced that the 19-year-old had returned to the AXA Training Centre after sustaining an unidentified injury.
He missed matches against Grimsby and Newport County as he was having testing at his parent club before a decision was reached about returning to Liverpool.
Balagizi had surgery on his groin last week, and Crawley has now confirmed that he will be out for at least five weeks as a result.
Prior to being allowed to return to Crawley and resume training, he will spend time with Liverpool, receiving top-notch care from the team’s medical experts.
The young star should be back on the field by December and he could feature against Swindon Town. The Reds have a host of talent sent out on loan this summer and they would be aiming to analyze their player’s progress before preparing them for the senior side.
Currently, the club are facing serious injury issues with many key players being in and out of the starting XI due to recent setbacks.
