Liverpool have zeroed in on Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha as a cheaper alternative to Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice transfer target Jude Bellingham.
The Reds are backed to add to their ranks in the summer transfer window and a fresh pair of legs to bolster his engine room is understood to be a priority for the head coach Klopp before the next season gets underway.
Bellingham, who has been a star turn for his club Borussia Dortmund over the past year and a half, is expected to spark off a transfer war this summer between Europe’s top clubs which could mean that Liverpool will be forced to shell out a big fee to land his signature.
Dortmund are likely to demand a fee north of £100 million to allow the England midfielder to leave and a report from The Mirror has claimed that Liverpool are looking at a cheaper option in the market in the form of Joao Palhinha
The Portugal international piles his trade with the Premier League high flyers Fulham and has impressed at Craven Cottage with his displays in the heart of the midfield with four goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.
