Liverpool FC have confirmed the sale of teenage defender Ki-Jana Hoever on a permanent basis to Wolves on an undisclosed transfer fee.
The 18-year old Dutchman makes the move to the Molineux Stadium amidst strong speculation that Wolves’ attacker Diogo Jota will be signing for the Reds in a reported deal worth £45 million.
Hoever was a bright talent in the Liverpool FC youth development squads over the past few seasons and had been tipped for a big future in the Reds shirt. He had been a part of Jurgen Klopp’s side that had clinched the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in a span of a few months last year.
However, the emergence of Neco Williams as a cover for Trent Alexander Arnold in the right-back spot during the latter stage of Liverpool FC’s 2019-20 Premier League title-winning campaign and penning a five-year extension meant that Hoever’s first-team involvement at Anfield was set to be diminished even further in the coming seasons.
Ki-Jana Hoever has completed a permanent transfer to @Wolves.
Everyone at #LFC thanks @khoever51_ for his contributions to the club and wishes him the best of luck for the future.

Hoever’s departure from Liverpool FC was rumoured to be initially on a loan deal but with the Merseyside club’s recent spending spree in the transfer market, certain first-team players will have to be offloaded to balance the books for the Premier League holders.
