Liverpool’s chances of signing long-standing target Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham this summer look slim due to a number of reasons, claims a report from The Athletic.
The Reds have been huge admirers of the England midfielder’s ability and as Jurgen Klopp is out to revamp his engine room over the summer, Bellingham was said to be one of the top names on the manager’s shopping list.
Klopp’s men, however, could be seen bowing out of the chase to sign the teenager with the Merseysiders having their task cut out in qualifying for next season’s Champions League as they remain seven points outside the top four in the standings.
It is said that Manchester City and Real Madrid are in stronger positions at the moment with both clubs boasting of the financial heft to pull off a big-money transfer as Dortmund are certain to demand an eyewatering asking price for Bellingham.
There is no release clause in Bellingham’s deal with Dortmund and the Bundesliga outfit are expected to slap a big price tag on his head to sanction a move away.
