Liverpool are now ready to appoint Marques who will provide his expertise in scouting global talent for multiple clubs. He is close to agreeing on a deal with the Reds and an official announcement awaits.

CFG are part of multi ownership group as they own Girona, Melbourne City, New York City FC and Man City. Liverpool are aware of Marques’ experience in working with this multi-club model and will need his talent to manage another club.
Since leaving City, Marques has done a commendable job at Benfica. He became their technical director and his stocks have continued to rise.
Liverpool got to work with the Portuguese during their negotiations to sign Darwin Nunez from Benfica in 2022. Marques’ role will be as important as other high-profile individuals that have been targeted by the club in recent months.
