Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has spoken out about the kidnapping of his parents, urging his followers on Instagram to join a march for the release of his father, Luis Manuel Diaz, while his mother has been rescued from the kidnappers.
The Colombian attorney general’s office had previously announced that they were actively working on the case, and Colombian President Gustavo Petro has also been providing updates on the situation.
Amid these developments, Diaz posted about a vigil for his father on his official Instagram.
In a social media post, the winger extended an invitation to the entire community, urging them to bring candles to symbolize hope at a vigil for his father.

He passionately implored his father’s captors to release him immediately. The kidnapping occurred when armed individuals seized Diaz’s parents at a gas station in their hometown, Barrancas, La Guajira, located in the northern part of Colombia.
Attorney General Francisco Barbosa suggested on Tuesday that the Liverpool player’s father might currently be in Venezuela.
President Gustavo Petro declared that all available public resources have been mobilized in the search for the 26-year-old’s father.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp revealed that the player expressed a strong desire to return home immediately upon learning about his parents’ kidnapping.
Klopp also mentioned that the club has provided officials to accompany and support him during this challenging time.

Luis Diaz is currently staying at home in England with other family members. Liverpool’s assistant manager, Pepijn Lijnders, did not provide specific details about the support the club is offering the South American star during a press conference on Tuesday.
However, Lijnders emphasized that Diaz is aware of the full backing he has from everyone at the club.
As a result of the situation, the winger will not be available when Liverpool faces Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
