Liverpool’s plans of signing Lisbon midfielder Matheus Nunes shot down

Liverpool’s plans of signing Lisbon midfielder Matheus Nunes in this summer’s window have been shot down by prominent journalist James Pearce.

The talk had gained ground of late that Jurgen Klopp was keen to move in for the highly-rated Sporting Lisbon star with the Reds head coach looking to reinforce his options in the heart of the midfield before the transfer window shuts.

James Pearce, however, in his recent tweet has dismissed the rumours of Liverpool’s interest in Nunes with Pearce claiming that there would be no further business at Anfield for what remains of this summer.

The Merseysiders had made attempts to land both Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni with the latter choosing to sign for European champions Real Madrid while Bellingham is set to stay put with Dortmund for the upcoming season.

Liverpool remain in the running to make an approach for signing Bellingham in the forthcoming transfer windows with the England international talent said to be a top name on Jurgen Klopp’s wishlist for a new midfield recruit.
