Liverpool’s top transfer target Jude Bellingham has been given a plum role in the Borussia Dortmund camp with the midfielder now a third choice for captaincy for the Bundesliga giants.
Bellingham has emerged as a priority on the transfer front for the Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp who remains on the hunt for a fresh face to add to his options in the midfield come the summer of 2023.
The England international looks all but certain to be retained by Dortmund for the coming season and his staying put at Signal Iduna Park has earned him a prominent role in the club’s leadership group, according to The Daily Mirror.
He took over the skipper’s armband once Marco Reus and vice-skipper Mats Hummels left the pitch during Dortmund’s friendly against Villarreal last week in a signal of his growing importance to the German outfit.
Bellingham has proven to be a star turn for the Dortmund side since he made the move to Germany from Birmingham City in 2020 and in the process has courted serious interest from Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders.
