Luis Enrique has said his old club Liverpool should weigh up move for Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic who has been linked with an exit from the English capital in recent weeks.
The American winger has fallen out of favour with Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge and there is speculation doing the rounds that Liverpool are keeping close tabs on his current situation.
Jurgen Klopp’s search for reinforcements in the final third of the pitch could be satisfied if the Anfield camp open talks to bring in Pulisic who has worked with the Liverpool boss before during their days at Dortmund.
Pulisic linked up with Chelsea from the Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2019 but having made just two starts so far this campaign, Liverpool are considered suitors for the player’s signature in the market.
Urging Jurgen Klopp to make the move for the attacker is a former Liverpool man Luis Enrique who spoke to BeMyBet and admitted that the Reds will face a challenge in signing the American from a rival club in the league.
“Pulisic is a good player.”
“The only problem with him is injuries, but Klopp knows him very well and he would be a great addition. But I don’t see it happening – Chelsea won’t let one of the best players leave for Liverpool when they’re fighting for the title.
“But you never know. Chelsea are not a team that sell players, and if they do it’s likely to be somewhere else. Hopefully I’m wrong because he’s a great player and he would do well for Liverpool.”
