Liverpool FC are reportedly lining up a shock swoop for former star forward Luis Suarez in the forthcoming summer transfer window, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The Uruguayan international was a real fan-favourite during his days in the Reds shirt before making a big-money move to FC Barcelona in the summer of 2014.
Now turning out for La Liga tablet-toppers Atletico Madrid, Suarez remains his usual prolific self in front of the goal and having found the back of the net 19 times this season in just 24 top-flight starts, the 34-year-old has emerged on the radar of his old club Liverpool FC.
Jurgen Klopp is understood to be desirous of wanting to add a proven goal scorer to his first-team ranks ahead of next season in which the Anfield outfit would seek to renew the battle for the Premier League crown after a miserable title-defence this time around.
Despite Suarez’s advancing age, the star striker is seen as a major force to be reckoned with and considering recent reports of Divock Origi’s departure being imminent from Anfield, Klopp would look to make a move for the Atletico man in what could prove to be a shock yet welcome reunion on Merseyside.
