Liverpool FC’s never-ending troubles on the injury front are set to increase even further with the addition of skipper Jordan Henderson as the Daily Mail claims that the 30-year-old could be ruled out for a period of up to 12 weeks.
The England international had to be withdrawn off the pitch at Anfield during last Saturday’s Merseyside derby clash with the Reds trailing 1-0 to an early goal from Richarlison and later reports confirmed that Henderson had suffered a groin injury.
New reports coming to light suggest that Henderson awaits information as to whether he would require surgery on his groin, a case which might sideline the Liverpool FC skipper and midfield general for the remainder of the 2020-21 campaign.
Henderson also remains doubtful for the UEFA Euros scheduled for later this year and his absence would result in a major blow for Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions camp considering the former Sunderland man’s influence within the dressing room and ability in the centre of the park.
For Jurgen Klopp, Henderson’s injury is the most recent of additions to an injury-depleted first-team squad at Anfield, with the Liverpool FC boss losing another one of his key regulars to the sidelines.
