Manchester United great Gary Neville has lavished praise on Luis Diaz with the latter adapting to life at Anfield in the best possible manner.
The Columbia international wide player Diaz already boasts of three goals and an assist to his name in eight Premier League outings since making the move to Liverpool in the January transfer window.
Diaz netted the opener for Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders in Tuesday night’s high-billed Anfield showdown against Manchester United in a game where the home side ran out convincing winners with a 4-0 scoreline.
The Liverpool new boy was a delight to watch as he got the nod to make the starting XI ahead of Diogo Jota with Diaz leaving no stone unturned to impress the Liverpool fans and the boss Jurgen Klopp.
Joining Diaz’s increasing list of admirers is the player-turned-pundit Gary Neville who issued high praise for the Columbian while speaking on the Gary Neville podcast in the aftermath of the Liverpool win against Neville’s former club.
“Honestly, it’s utterly depressing.
“From the moment I saw him play in the Carabao Cup final, which was the first time I’d seen the lad live, until you see a player live and particularly when I look at him, he’s playing off the left-hand side and I look at it from a right-back’s perspective. So, I have a pretty good eye about what I wouldn’t have liked and what I would like – and I thought ‘oh my God, what a player he is!’
“His tenacity, his skill, his pace, his fight, his spirit, everything! And he’s cost not a lot again. They (Liverpool) have found another one!”
