Liverpool’s faltering top-four hopes lie on what is surely a must-win game for them when they visit Old Trafford on Thursday to face off against bitter foes Manchester United.
The Reds were last seen in action on their own patch in a convincing win over Southampton as Jurgen Klopp’s Merseyside men finally returned to winning ways.
Let us now take a look at how Jurgen Klopp might set his Liverpool side for the game against Manchester United-
4-3-3
Alisson Becker is the permanent fixture between the sticks for Manchester United behind a four-man backline which is due to miss Ozan Kabak owing to an injury problem.
The young Turk is likely to be replaced in the centre-back role by Fabinho despite Jurgen Klopp having the services of Rhys Williams to call upon as he did in the win over Southampton last week.
Fabinho’s drafting at the back means a place is up for grabs in the centre of the park which is expected to go James Milner’s way with the veteran midfielder having plenty of big-game experience which is required in the dying stages of this campaign.
Klopp could once again go ahead with Diogo Jota in the central striking role with Firmino on the bench to rely upon should his side fail to hit the ground running on the attacking front.
