Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane set admitted that he was proud of finishing fourth place in the Ballon d’Or voting but has his sights set on winning the prestigious award next time.

Mane was slightly further back in term of the votes but the Senegal international suggested that more success with European champions could help him compete for France Football’s individual honor
Liverpool is now a force at home and abroad and the champions of Europe had four players in the top 10 and six in the top 20 after a stellar season.
However, the 27-year-old Mane has insisted that he wants to be the number one player in the world while speaking to the clubs official website, “That means we are a great team with great players and great quality The boys still have a lot to show and hopefully this season we can show it. I am very proud and happy to be named fourth in the world. I am looking forward and why not number one, maybe? I will do everything possible to win the Champions League and Premier League with Liverpool and we’ll see what’s going to happen.”
Mane won the Golden Boot in the Premier League last term as he netted 22 times and also played a vital role in winning the Champions League with Liverpool.
This season Mane already has 13 goals and 10 assists in all competitions as Liverpool sits at the top of the Premier League table with an eight-point lead.
