Micah Richards touts Jack Grealish to be a capable addition for Liverpool

Ex-Manchester City player-turned-pundit for Sky Sports, Micah Richards, has suggested that Liverpool FC be on alert should Jack Grealish want to leave Aston Villa in the near future.

Grealish has arguably been the most important player for Villa in recent years, helping Dean Smith’s side seal promotion to the Premier League, survive the first year of top-flight football without suffering the fate of relegation, and has enjoyed a brilliant start to the 2020-21 season, with Villa maintaining a 100 per cent record in the three games they have played so far.

The England international was on fire when his side handed a shock 7-2 humbling to defending champions Liverpool FC a week ago at Villa Park. His brace that day, in addition to a fantastic display of attacking awareness, proves that he could fetch a move to a top club across England should he choose to leave the Midlands-based outfit.

And in a chat with Chris Sutton for the Daily Mail, Richards argued that Grealish’s talent on the pitch would mean that the 25-year old would pose as a first-team regular for the likes of Liverpool FC, Manchester United, and Arsenal, and would perform even better when surrounded by star-players of the aforementioned sides.

“I want to find the clip where you said, ‘Oh, he’s [Grealish] not all that! He’s not James Maddison! He’s only done it in the Championship!’ You know what you are like when you go on these little rants of yours.

“I told you, Christopher. I told you! He is a top Premier League player. When he plays with better players, it lifts him. Imagine if he was at Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City or Arsenal…”

Time will only tell should the England international end up making a move to Anfield in the coming years, but Grealish’s potential addition to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side surely promises to be a relishing watch for the club’s supporters.
