Mohamed Salah is claimed to be demanding north of £300-a-week wage bump to sign a new long-term contract with the Reds as speculation continues to grow over the player’s future on Merseyside.
The 29-year-old has got the 2021-22 campaign off to a flying start and his recent run of form has led to many voicing the need for Liverpool to smash their wage structure and accept Salah’s demands of a major wage bump.
Salah has scored six goals already in just seven league outings with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, who remain unbeaten so far this new season, a point adrift of table-toppers Chelsea heading into the forthcoming international break.
Reports from The Independent suggest that the Egyptian international winger is after a £300-£380k-a-week wage to commit his long-term future to Liverpool and put pen to paper on a new deal at Anfield.
Salah’s current deal with the Merseysiders is valid until the summer of 2023 and Liverpool have it high on their priority list to tie down the former AS Roma man to extended terms amid Real Madrid keeping an eye out for the Reds mainstay.
