Liverpool fans will be glad to know that club talisman Mohamed Salah has admitted that he is content with life at Anfield ridiculing comments made by Gary Neville.
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville had mentioned that Salah could leave Liverpool in 12 months’ time in order to join either Real Madrid or Barcelona but the Egyptian has responded by stating that it’s a long time before he can think of leaving Liverpool.
Ever since arriving at Liverpool back in the summer of 2017 in a €40 million deal from Serie A outfit AS Roma, Mohamed Salah has been tearing up the record books at Anfield. Salah became the fastest player to reach 50 Premier League goals for Liverpool and has won back to back Golden Boots as well.
Salah played a major factor in helping Liverpool win the Champions League title in the summer and scored a crucial penalty in the final. But these incredible and impressive performances from Salah have attracted interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona along with a few other European giants as well.
Earlier this season, 44-year-old Gary Neville stated that Salah could leave Liverpool, “Salah’s going to leave in the next 12 months, and I can see it already. He [Carragher] knows, he won’t say it. He will [leave], I can absolutely guarantee it. I can see it, you can feel it, and you can smell it.”
But the 27-year-old Liverpool forward has confirmed that he is enjoying life at Liverpool and has no plans of leaving anytime soon. Salah spoke to CNN and said, ‘I’m happy at Liverpool. I’m happy in the city – I love the fans and they love me. I’m happy at the club.’
Salah has started all of three of Liverpool’s games this season and opened his account with a goal against Norwich City on the opening day of the Premier League season.
