Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah has managed to win the Liverpool Player of The Month following his incredible displays in front of goal in the month of August.
Liverpool currently sits at the top of the Premier League table and are the only team in England’s top flight to maintain their 100 percent record after four games. By winning the UEFA Super Cup as well, the Reds look set for another rollicking season to dethrone Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City as champions of England.
Mohamed Salah has become a key player for the Reds ever since his arrival at Anfield from Serie A club AS Roma back in the summer of 2017. Salah has won the Golden boot twice in a row now and also scored in the Champions League final helping Liverpool to their sixth title in the clubs illustrious history.
The 27-year-old also scored the decisive penalty in the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea last month and Salah has continued that rich vein of form into the Premier League scoring three goals and notching up two assists so far.
Salah scored a sublime solo goal against Arsenal after tucking in a penalty and he also scored on the opening day of the Premier League season against Norwich City as well. These incredible performances have won the winger Liverpool’s Player Of The Month for August.
Upon receiving the award, Salah said that he wants to improve the team on a whole even though he is delighted with his efforts, “I am happy to win the award, but the most important thing as I’ve said before is winning games, We won all of our games last month in the league, we had good results, so we need to keep focused on our games and keep winning. We had a good month. We won a trophy in that time, so it was something unbelievable for us as a team. Everyone showed with our performances and the way we can play, so we’re happy about what we have right now.”
