Mohammad Salah expected to feature in mid-week UCL fixture

Some positive ray of good news on the injury front is awaiting Liverpool FC supporters, as recent reports do confirm that Egyptian international Mohammad Salah has finally tested negative for COVID-19 and that the attacker will now be able to feature against Atalanta in this week’s Champions League tie.

A positive test report for the pandemic virus had prevented Salah from appearing in Sunday’s Premier League game against Leicester City, which was ultimately won by Jurgen Klopp’s side on the back of a solid overall display.

However, Salah’s presence in the Reds lineup is always a major asset to Jurgen Klopp, who when quizzed upon his star forward’s availability for the mid-week game, said that the Egyptian had tested negative for COVID-19, and will be subject to further UEFA tests as well prior to Wednesday night’s match, according to reports from Liverpoolfc.com.

“I heard he tested negative Sunday.

“I think that from now on he is quite normal in his tests and on Monday we have tests with UEFA, and I am pretty sure that he is there.

“He can train with us from Monday, that is it.”

Salah’s return to the XI could cause Klopp to make an extremely tough decision regarding his attacking line selection for the upcoming fixture, as all Liverpool FC attackers have been in flying form of late, especially Diogo Jota, who got on the scoresheet on Sunday as well against the Foxes.
