Naby Keita is available for Liverpool selection ahead of the Benfica tie midweek with Jurgen Klopp’s side gaining ground on the injury front.
The boss Klopp is set to have a fully fit squad to choose from for his side’s Champions League first-leg quarter-final tie away at the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica with Keita’s return.
Moreover, the likes of Curtis Jones and Joel Matip, who had picked up minor knocks following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Watford in the Premier League have been deemed fit to feature in the upcoming game for the Reds, said Klopp in his pre-match presser.
“Yes, full squad available, absolutely.
“Curtis was just a little swelling, [it] disappeared then overnight, fine. Same with Joel, which is really helpful because it looked really strange. Yes, and Trent trained now four or five days, I’m not sure exactly, but yes, he is ready as well.”
Keita back in the Liverpool fold would provide Klopp with another viable option in midfield following the Liverpool manager resting Fabinho for the Watford clash before introducing the defensive midfielder in the final stages of the game.
The Brazil international netted from the penalty spot to double Liverpool’s advantage over The Hornets with Diogo Jota’s first-half strike proving to be a slender lead for the home side.
