Liverpool FC midfielder Naby Keita could be seen departing Anfield in the summer with several sides interested in signing the former Leipzig player.
Keita, who signed for the Reds in 2018, has never excelled for Liverpool FC in a consistent fashion.
A series of injuries have affected his time on the pitch for Liverpool FC. Moreover, other midfielders overtake him in the pecking order at Liverpool FC. The Guinean international is mulling over a move to Italian side AC Milan, where he could reunite with his former RB Leipzig coach Ralf Rangnick.
The 25-year old Keita’s move to Liverpool FC was announced in the summer of 2017. However, the player’s joining his new teammates was deferred until the next season. Keita did not have an easy start to his life in the Premier League.
The player struggled with injuries and could not become a part of the Reds starting lineup.
However, despite Ketia’s struggles, Klopp has faith in the player. Liverpool FC are insistent on keeping the 25-year old at Anfield. But many Italian sides are eyeing Keita for a move in the summer and could open negotiations with the Reds.
With reports suggesting that Liverpool FC are interested in signing Ruben Neves from Wolves, Keita’s time at Anfield may be over. Neves has been a solid performer for Wolves in the Premier League for the past two seasons. The Portuguese international has been linked with a switch to Anfield in recent times.
Having signed for £59 million, Keita is yet to prove his worth to the Reds. Moreover, being assigned the number 8 jersey, which was worn by Steven Gerrard, has not done any favours to the player.
With squad rotation very important for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool FC, Keita may not leave Anfield. However, if teams interested in signing the midfielder make a move, it may be difficult for Liverpool FC to retain their player.
