The ever-increasing likelihood of losing out on his midfield general Gini Wijnaldum this summer to long-term chasers FC Barcelona has convinced Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp on lining up a replacement for the Dutchman.
According to reports from Sport Witness, Klopp has identified Napoli first-teamer Piotr Zielinski as an ideal signing for the Merseysiders with the Polish midfielder establishing himself to be one of the top talents in Serie A football over the past couple of seasons.
With Wijnaldum heading close to the exit door at Anfield despite Jurgen Klopp’s repeated attempts to tie down his long-serving player to a new deal, the Reds will be in for a major summer window after a miserable show this time around in their quest to clinch a second successive top-flight crown.
Zielinski’s addition to the Anfield camp would provide Klopp with a great option in the middle of the pitch which is an area where his side has seen a host of injury issues this season as Fabinho and skipper Jordan Henderson have had to spend considerable time on the recovery table.
The Napoli man has put up brilliant numbers for the Italian outfit across the ongoing campaign with six goals and as many assists in just 25 league outings.
