Napoli interested in taking on Liverpool outcast Kostas Tsimikas in a loan deal this summer

Kostas Tsimikas could spend the forthcoming season away from Anfield just a year into his move to Liverpool as Serie A outfit Napoli are interested in signing the full-back on loan this summer.

The Greek international arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2020 to provide much-needed cover in the left-back role for Andy Robertson and first-team minutes have been very hard to come by for the 25-year-old in the Reds shirt.

With just six minutes of league action given to Tsimikas by Jurgen Klopp, there are rumours that the Liverpool boss will be open to shipping out the defender on a season-long loan deal ahead of the next season.

Reports from The Express suggest that Napoli are the frontrunners in the race to make a move for Tsimikas who was a first-team regular during his days at Olympiakos from where he secured a £12 million transfer to Merseyside.

Klopp is not expected to make a major change in his first-team plans for the upcoming season as Andy Robertson remains the priority candidate to fill in at left-back with the veteran James Milner an able choice to provide cover when required.
