New Barcelona boss Xavi keen on making a move for Mohamed Salah

New Barcelona boss Xavi is reportedly keen on making a move for Liverpool mainstay Mohamed Salah who has been in top form as of late for the Anfield giants.

Salah, however, remains coy over his long-term future in the Liverpool colours with his current deal on Merseyside due to expire in the summer of 2023 and talks leading nowhere on that front.

The Egypt international star forward is holding out for a bump in his wages but Liverpool are unlikely to alter their existing structure to accommodate Salah’s demands of being paid north of £300,000-a-week.

Reports from Spanish news outlet El Nacional ( via The Liverpool Echo) claim that the newly appointed FC Barcelona manager Xavi is keeping close tabs on Salah who he believes will be a viable addition to his Camp Nou roster for the next summer.

Salah is not the first Liverpool first-team star that has emerged on Xavi’s radar with the midfield maestro Thiago Alcantara understood to be eyed up by his former teammate who succeeds Ronald Koeman to the Barcelona top job.
